  18. its a windows only modem. its missing a uart and some other stuff, and
  19. that stuff is handled by windows.. if you want dos go for the regular
  20. sportster or just forget the winmodem entirely

  22. the win modem has one thing good for it.. to upgrade the modem you just
  23. run a new install disk. the regular sportster needs a rom upgrade and
  24. the more expensive sportster dsvd has a flash rom and voice and data
  25. over the same line to a modem that has that. compusa sells the dsvd's
  26. for like $300-399 and the regular sportster sells for around 199
